Even though I started out with painting, photography was my first passion as an art medium. When I made the decision to devote my attention to photography during my time in art school, I was captivated by its potential and subsequently began exploring the medium in various ways over time. At first challenging it, disbelieving it and looking for a way to subvert it from within. I began creating portraits, which I thought broke traditions in both formality and approach. But back then, it was the 90s, I never turned the camera towards myself, something I deeply regret today.

INTERLUDE was a performative moment, a desire to reconnect with the medium I abandoned many years ago in favour of video and installations. A mere play with the codes of self-image and an urgent need to experiment with identity and the passing of time on my own, in the pandemic times, and a silent conversation with myself and the photographic language.
