Although I started out with painting, photograph was my first passion in art as a medium. When I decided to pay attention to photography in art school, I became very excited about its possibilities and found myself delving into the medium in different ways over time. At first challenging it, desbeliving it and looking for a way to subvert it from within. I started making portraits which I thought broke traditions in both formality and approach. But back then, it was the 90’s, I never turned the camera towards myself, something I deeply regret today.
INTERLUDE was a performative moment, a desire to reconnect with the medium I abandoned many years ago in favor of video and installations. A mere play with the codes of self-image and an urgent need to experiment with identity and the passing of time on my own, in a silent conversation with myself and the photographic language.
