THE SPIRIT

We truly believe that music connects and inspires people to transcend boundaries and this is the spirit behind the Brazilian Summer Sessions, a successful musical project created in 2007, in Amsterdam.

Based on contemporary Brazilian popular music, the project takes place in the Bimhuis, a stunningly modern location in town. The program is conceived as a host of exciting venues in which the engaging Brazilian way to make and enjoy music generates interaction and joy during the warm days of the Summer.

As a charming small festival devoted to popular music, the Brazilian Summer Sessions has succeed to bring to Amsterdam a set of performances by some of the most amazing modern Brazilian music stars, surrounding the venues with a holiday atmosphere right into the heart of the city in the last four years.

The program integrates concertsl with other art forms, activities and disciplines such as documentary films, local jam sessions, master classes, a seminar about Brazilian popular music, new media art exhibitions and open air events.
